NEW DELHI: The Delhi high court on Tuesday issued notice to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on a plea by Dalvin Suresh, father of deceased student Nevin Dalvin, seeking the presentation and supply of CCTV footage related to the July 2024 drowning incident at RAU’s IAS Study Circle in Old Rajender Nagar.
Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma has requested the CBI’s response, with the matter scheduled for hearing on January 15.
The petition, filed through advocate Abhijit Anand, requests the preservation and provision of CCTV footage from the day of the incident, which saw three UPSC aspirants drown in a flooded basement.
Previously, Suresh withdrew a separate petition alleging inadequate oversight by the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) on the CBI’s investigation.
The CBI has already filed a chargesheet against six individuals, including co-owners and officials Abhishek Gupta and Deshpal Singh, all of whom are currently on bail.
In August 2024, the high court had transferred the investigation from the Delhi police to the CBI.
