Fans of the Golden State Warriors ended the offseason in disappointment as their team didn’t make any large moves to improve their chances in 2024-25.

Throughout the summer, there were rumors of them attempting to sign a number of stars but nothing happened.

Now, Draymond Green is opening up about those plans the team had.

According to The Athletic, via NBACentral, Green confirmed that the Warriors attempted to sign both Paul George and Lauri Markkanen with dreams of forming a big four that would have greatly shaken up the Western Conference.

“The conversation was always about that possibility. You get both of those guys, you make a huge splash. But the Clippers weren’t really willing to play ball. Then Danny Ainge was being Danny Ainge,” Green said.

There were numerous reports stating the Warriors were trying to land either of these stars but the idea of them signing both at the same time is quite surprising.

It would have had a huge impact on the team and the conference, but it would have been very costly for Golden State.

The Los Angeles Clippers knew they were going to lose George but they weren’t willing to part with him for just any amount.

They would have demanded a lot from the Warriors.

As for Danny Ainge and the Utah Jazz, he has repeatedly shown that he only plays hardball when negotiating with other teams.

It’s difficult to imagine how the Warriors could have put together a package that would have landed them both of these players because their current teams would have asked for so much.
