Will the Miami Heat lose their biggest star this season and will the Golden State Warriors be waiting to scoop him up?

On Friday morning, Sam Amick reported, via Legion Hoops, that the Warriors are “keeping an eye” on Jimmy Butler of the Heat in case the Heat decide to move him.

Rumors of Butler leaving the Heat have been popping up a lot lately so there is a good chance of him departing from Miami during this season or in the summer.

Would the Warriors be willing to pay what the Heat demand for Butler?

Butler has two more years on his contract with the Heat and is owed $48 million this season and $52 million in the next.

If the Warriors are serious about taking him on, they will have to produce that amount of money to cover his contract.

For the last few months, Butler has reportedly been trying to work out a new deal with the Heat but apparently, he and the team haven’t seen eye-to-eye about what he deserves.

This has opened the door to Butler departing from the team, after playing for the Heat for six seasons.

Of course, there is a chance that Butler and Miami agree to terms and he remains with the team.

The Heat have a 2-2 record right now and have shown a bit more fight in them than some people expected.

As for Butler, he has averaged 16.8 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists during his five games.

Maybe Butler is playing with fire in his belly because he wants his team to succeed or perhaps he is attempting to build his trade value because he knows his time with the Heat is coming to an end.
