Manchester United interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy has dropped a huge injury update on Kobbie Mainoo ahead of the Premier League clash against Leicester City at Old Trafford.
The England international has been sidelined since the last international break with a muscle injury and Van Nistelrooy has revealed that the Foxes game will come too soon for the United graduate.
The Dutchman added that he is making good progress in his recovery and he needs a bit more time to return to team training with the Red Devils.
He said: “Kobbie is also progressing in his injury, he’s making the right steps, but is not yet with the team, though. That needs a bit more time.”
In the absence of Mainoo, the likes of Manuel Ugarte and Christian Eriksen have got more minutes under their belt alongside Casemiro.
Casemiro has probably benefitted the most, having stepped up to become a key player for the Red Devils from the number six position.
United face the Foxes at Old Trafford. A victory would see them climb up the standings and possibly reduce the six-point gap to the top four.
