BENGALURU: Salesforce India surpassed $1 billion in revenue, amounting to Rs 9,116 crore in the 2023-24 financial year, registering a 36% growth over the corresponding period last year. This underscores digital transformation initiatives powering its growth story in India. In comparison, its revenue saw a 50% revenue increase to Rs 6,590 crore in the 2022-23 financial year.
“India’s economic potential continues to expand as various sectors embrace digitalisation. Currently, we are experiencing the third wave of AI development, specifically the emergence of autonomous agents, which offers substantial possibilities,” said Arundhati Bhattacharya, CEO and chairperson of Salesforce India. Agentforce is a suite of autonomous AI agents that augment employees and handle tasks in service, sales, marketing, and commerce, driving unprecedented efficiency and customer satisfaction. Salesforce added 3,000 employees in India during 2023-24, reaching a total workforce of 13,000 employees across Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Pune, and Jaipur. The company saw substantial growth in India, with its staff numbers increasing twofold in the past two years.
“The industry has become very agile. Every time you think there are set roles we are hiring for, something new like ethics or privacy comes up. The widespread adoption of artificial intelligence drove these changes. The positions span both technical domains and legal sectors. We might not hire as many as we hired last year,” Bhattacharya said.
The organisation is launching its flagship India office, featuring centres of excellence in AI and emerging technologies, thus initiating the consolidation of its property assets. The India office joins the other locations including San Francisco, New York, Chicago, London, Dublin, Sydney, Tokyo, Atlanta, and Indianapolis. Salesforce India staff will begin relocating to the new premises at Bengaluru’s Bagmane Tech Park in 2026.
