Sandra Bullock's Ex Accused Of Evading Deposition Video

Sandra Bullock‘s ex-husband, Jesse James, is under fire again—this time for allegedly dodging a key deposition in a dog attack lawsuit. 

The legal battle stems from claims by a former employee, who says she was seriously injured by James’ dogs, sparking a legal battle that is only getting messier. 

Jesse James’ former employee, who name-dropped his companies in her lawsuit, claimed she was not properly equipped to handle the dogs. 

Despite James and his company denying any wrongdoing, his former employee Karen Sanchez-Roberts’ legal team filed a motion to compel the owner to appear for a videotaped deposition.  

The plaintiff, who worked for the 55-year-old and his company, claims that he has repeatedly avoided being videotaped during the critical deposition in her lawsuit. The conflict reportedly started in June when Sanchez-Roberts’ lawyers requested dates for the deposition.

After some back-and-forth, a Zoom deposition was scheduled for August, but just 24 hours before the meeting, James objected to being videotaped for the first time, causing the deposition to be canceled. Documents obtained by In Touch reveal that Sanchez-Roberts’ legal team argued:

“Plaintiff’s counsel offered to sign an agreement that the deposition video would not be used outside the litigation, but defendants still refused to allow the video deposition. There is no principled reason why Defendants would allow Mr. James to sit for deposition without a protective order in place, but object solely to its taping.”

Before the recent events, the former husband of Sandra Bullock faced a major lawsuit from his ex-employee, who claimed his dogs severely injured her. 

The April 11, 2023, incident allegedly occurred when James’ dogs began fighting each other, and Sanchez-Roberts attempted to break them up. In her lawsuit, she claims she was “attacked and bitten without provocation on her right hand.”

Sanchez-Roberts sought damages between $250,000 and $1 million, citing a fractured hand that required stitches and ongoing medical treatment. Her lawyer revealed:

“As a result of the incident, [Karen] suffered severe, debilitating, and permanent injuries that required surgical intervention.” 

Sanchez-Roberts also noted that the incident has caused lasting physical and emotional pain, including disfigurement and mental anguish. 

In the lawsuit, Sanchez-Roberts also claims she was tasked with handling James’ dogs but needed to be given proper instructions on what to do when the animals became aggressive.

The Blast reported that she blames James for not providing the necessary expertise or guidance in handling the dogs, which she says could have prevented the attack.

The plaintiff also claims that her former boss knew his dogs had a “propensity to be vicious and aggressive towards others before and at the time of the subject incident.” 

The dogs reportedly often fought so violently that someone had to step in and separate them.

The former employee’s claims about James purposely ignoring his dogs’ aggressive behavior struck a nerve when she revealed additional incidents involving his own children.

In her suit, Sanchez-Roberts claimed that since 2016, James has been aware that his dogs frequently fought violently enough to require medical care, including stitches and staples.

The lawsuit then revealed that one of James’ children was bitten by the dogs prior to Roberts’ employment, an alleged fact the father-of-four was fully aware of. 

Sanchez-Roberts recalls James admitting he would kick the dogs to break up their fights, yet he “failed to take any corrective action leading up to the incident.”

Although Sanchez-Roberts alleged that James has known about his dogs’ aggressive behavior since 2016, a more recent incident adds a twist to the ongoing narrative. 

In 2023, James shared an Instagram video showcasing one of his dogs, Cain, who had a run-in with a porcupine. The footage showed the dog covered in quills from the deaf porcupine, alongside the caption, “Never a dull moment on Sundays.., Porcupine(s) 5 Cain 0.”

James humorously referenced Cain’s history with porcupines, saying, “As Tommy D always says, it’s never nothing. Well, let’s just hope you didn’t swallow the quills like you did before.”

Following the altercation with the porcupine, the dog owner posted another picture of Cain in the car on their way to the vet, hinting that the dog required medical attention.

As Jesse James and Karen Sanchez-Roberts prepare for the next steps, it remains to be seen how this saga will end.
